Olympic Games / Berlin 1936 Set of 2 medals commemorating the 1936 Berlin Games: - Official bronze participant's medal. Obverse: The Athlete in multiplied form representing the Five Continents, which he gathers with his two hands to the right and left in the form of thin columns, inscribed: "XI OLYMPIADE - BERLIN - 1936" / Reverse: the bell centered on the eagle enclosing the Olympic rings, surrounded by 5 concentric circles, signed Otto Placzek on the border. Formerly mounted, the base retains a trace of bevelling and a hole. Diam. 6.9 cm - Mannheim Sports Club recognition medal, in silver, with clasp attached to a green and white ribbon with pin. Obverse: Greek goddess with palm and laurel wreath, circular inscription "ZUR EHRE DES VATERLANDS ZUM RUHME DES SPORTS" / Reverse: the bell symbolizing the call to the Youth of the World, circular inscription "OLYMPISCHE SPIELE BERLIN MCMXXXIV".
