HEREDIA (J.M.)- La BRUYERE: Les caractères de Théphratse...Michalet, 1696. In-12 contemporary brown calf, spine ribbed and decorated (worn binding). Copy of José-Maria de HEREDIA, who wrote a long commentary on the work on the first blank page (in violet ink, as is very often the case) and appended notes and remarks throughout the work. Other period notes can be found in the margins. Provenance: Samuel Pozzi and Catherine Pozzi collection, which has remained in the family ever since.
