Fine heliogravure on Hollande laid paper (Van Gelder Zonen crown watermark) from a pen-and-ink drawing. Image size: 27.8 x 42.8 cm. Sheet size: 31.5 x 46.5 cm. White margins slightly affected by old traces of glue, but image in very good condition. Extremely rare avant la lettre print published to coincide with the publication of the article Le château de chantilly in the Encyclopédie d'architecture in 1885. Plate III illustrating this article (double-page folded in two) is our heliogravure, but with the following inscriptions in the margins: a general perspective view of the château and its surroundings, in its current state / L.
