Hiroshi SUGIMOTO (Japan, b. 1948) - Lot 157
Hiroshi SUGIMOTO (Japan, b. 1948) Cahiers d'art. Special issue 100th Issue, 2014, dedicated to Hiroshi Sugimoto. This issue is inspired by Le monde est mort aujourd'hui, a story written by Sugimoto for his exhibition at the Palais de Tokyo, set against his own eclectic collection of antiques and previously unpublished images of his work, all recounting the end of modernity. Texts include an interview with the artist by Hans Ulrich Obrist, contributions by renowned architect Jacques Herzog and Akiko Miki, chief curator of the Palais de Tokyo, as well as an essay by Daniel Birnbaum, director of the Moderna Museet, on the mathematical dimensions of Duchamp's work. Duchamp's work, and a reprint of an archival article from a 1929 Cahiers d'Art presentation on Brancusi's work, with texts by surrealist playwright Roger Vitrac and Brancusi himself.
