An elegant brooch crafted from 18K white gold (750 fineness) - Lot 312
An elegant brooch crafted from 18K white gold (750 fineness) and platinum (over 850 fineness), featuring an openwork floral design entirely set with brilliant-cut and marquise-cut diamonds. The top is set with a trapezoid-cut diamond and a baguette-cut diamond, each weighing approximately 0.40 carats. At its center is a large, unheated Burmese ruby cut into a teardrop cabochon, set in a movable element featuring a reversible system that can accommodate a second stone on the reverse side, allowing it to be adapted for different occasions. Goldsmith’s hallmark: G—a clover in a palm—C in a diamond pattern for Georges Chabrolle, listed in the Didot-Bottin Trade Directory in 1926.
