Nothing can be determined about what you are proposing to me, unless we know the institution of Sacristan that we have been ordered, how it is conceived, if it is revocable, to whom the right to appoint to it belongs. The detail of all these facts was absolutely necessary before ruling on what you are asking of me. I can see, however... that there is some bitterness in the air, and that, to all appearances, you could be taken to court. As the facts of the factory must come under my officiality, I advise you, sir, to have a request drawn up by a well-informed lawyer, which you will present to my official, who will summon all parties, and render you the justice due to you, but take care not to draw it up yourself, lest, failing some formality, you find anxious spirits on your way, who will tire you with a trial from which you will not emerge successfully...".
