Marquis de MESSEY (Louis François Antoine Nicolas,) EmIgra in 1791, joined the Armée des Princes. In April 1814, he helped form the Garde Nationale Parisienne à Cheval. He followed the King to Ghent in 1815, where he was part of the General Staff. Returning in 1816, the King appointed him Provost of PARIS - "GARDE NATIONALE À CHEVAL DE PARIS. (Printed letterhead) - L.S. Le Marquis de MESSEY Chef d'Escadron - Paris April 16, 1814 - He informs M. De TOURDONNET that he has been admitted to the Garde Nationale de Paris, 3° Escadron, 2° Compagnie. - 1p in-4°.
