DE CROY, Duc D'HAVRÉ Joseph Anne Maximilien (1744 - Château d'Havré 1839), Deputy to the Estates-General of 1789 for the Bailliage of AMIENS (Somme) and to the Constituent Assembly, Lieutenant-General, Peer of France, Captain of the Scottish Company of Bodyguards. In 1816, he was commissioned to meet Madame la Duchesse de Berry in Marseille. L.S. DESSON de ST AIGNAN - 1p in-folio - "Monsieur, la nouvelle organisation des Gardes du Corps, devant avoir son exécution, au 1er Novembre prochain, ceux de MM. les Gardes qui n'ont pu être conservés, sont mis de suite pour entrer dans l'armée, à la disposition de S. Ex. le Ministre de la Guerre, qui fera connaitre à chacun sa nouvelle disposition.., in accordance as far as possible with the wishes he has expressed...". He expresses his regret at losing him to the Corps.
