JAPAN, early 20th century Album comprising 28 original works folded in two, executed in ink and watercolor, illustrating a rich repertoire of naturalistic subjects. The compositions include elements of fauna - dragonflies, hummingbirds, spiders, cranes, crabs, sparrows, cicadas - as well as flora - bamboos, peonies, orchids, lotuses, pines, medlars - complemented by a few landscapes and still-life scenes. One of the inks is dated 1916. 23.5 x 17.5 cm Cover worn; paper partially yellowed.
