ORNE 1792. LA PATRIE EN DANGER. "Extract from the Procès-Verbal of the Public Session held by the Council of the Department of ORNE, under the Presidency of M. de Saint-Martin. August 3, 1792: "As long as the Patrie is in danger, Municipalities will continue to watch carefully over the maintenance of good order, and will be obliged, under their responsibility, under the terms of the law, to draw up reports of gatherings, popular emotions, and generally anything that could undermine the Constitution, public order, and the safety of people and property, in the extent of their territory...".
