ALLEMAND (François-Antoine) Metz/ Moselle 1774- 1839 - General of the Empire (Cavalry), Baron of the Empire; served in Egypt, St Domingue, Grande Armée, at Waterloo. Friendly letter, A.S. from BASTIA (Corsica) July 24, 1834, to Count DAURE - 1p in-4°: "...you speak to me of the Marshal's kindnesses, of my wife's eagerness, through her I also know all that you have done.... I would have been certain of all the eagerness of your friendship, always true, always so active... I thought it was time to speak only for the future, and for the future itself I was interested in this question. It really is of great interest in this country. There is no doubt that the influence necessary for command would be affected...".
