NASA. This photograph shows the remnants of an exploded star - Lot 248
NASA. This photograph shows the remnants of an exploded star called Cassiopeia. Using infrared light, scientists were able to see that much of the star's original stratification had been preserved. In this false-color photograph, the faint blue glow surrounding the dead star is material that has been energized by a shock wave. The green, yellow and red mainly represent the matter that was ejected during the explosion and heated by a slower shock wave, known as the reverse shock wave. 2006.
Vintage chromogenic print. Numbering in the margin. 25.5 X 20.4CM with margins.
