LE CLERC de JUIGNÉ (Antoine Éléonor Léon) Paris 1728 - 1811 - Bishop of Châlons-sur-Marne 1764, Archbishop of Paris 1781 to 1802, Duke and Peer. He set the example of renunciation on the night of August 4, 1789. Emigrated, he returned to France in 1802 - Letter A.S. PARIS February 3, 1787 - The Archbishop of PARIS is astonished to be placed under writ. He writes: "... it is natural, I dare say even proper, that before making a hostile act you should wait for the clarifications and explanations I had announced to you."
