Lots of 21 handwritten documents in Portuguese 1 - Deed of sale and tenure by Vasco Pires, resident of A-dos-Figueiros, on the outskirts of Cadaval, and his wife, Maria Gomes, of six bushels of wheat to priest Pero Cardoso, for the sum of 6,000 reals. Alvorninha, May 6, 1587. 12 pages (6 folios). 2 - Deed of sale by which Marta Paula, widow, wife of Domingos Dias, tailor, sold to Guiomar do Rego, widow, resident of Quinta da Abrunheira, on the outskirts of Torres Vedras, a parcel of land cultivated with cereals and a fenced backyard with olive trees, for the sum of 10,500 reis. Algober, June 18, 1614. 3 - Deed of exchange by which João Henriques de Simeiro and Susana Francisca, residents of Cadaval, exchanged with Captain Luís Botelho Trigueiros an enclosure with a haystack near the public road between Peniche and Santarém and a plot of land near the river at Queixada, where a bushel of wheat could be sown, for another enclosure and a house that once served as a wine press. A-dos-Figueiros, August 21, 1660. 4 - Deed of emphyteutic lease by which Captain José Teixeira Palha leased part of an orchard at Cruz da Pedra to Manuel Duarte, a laborer, and Inês Gonçalves, his wife, the latter promising to pay José Teixeira Palha one pullet or 9 vinténs each year, Sintra, March 21, 1733. 5 - Deed of appointment for the second generation, under a long-term lease valid for three lifetimes for part of an orchard at Cruz da Pedra, in favor of José Coelho, the latter promising to pay José Teixeira Palha one pullet or 4 vinténs each year, Sintra, December 2, 1746. 6 - Deed of expropriation involving Luís Francisco de Assis Sanches de Baena and the clerics of the Order of São Domingos, concerning the chapel of the same convent. Priest Brother Eusébio de Jesus, attorney for the chapels of the said convent, withdrew the complaint to settle a customs duty debt, since Baena agreed to appropriate 60,000 reis of his income from waterfront houses in Setúbal, plus 15,000 reis interest in customs, and to transfer a tax from Setúbal, which the convent had previously pledged. This pledge and others were rendered ineffective by this agreement, allowing Baena to collect its duties on August 1, 1741. 7 - Certificate of a deed of lease by which Luís Cabral de Lacerda leased his estate Quinta de Figueiro, on the outskirts of Cadaval, to Luís Beltrão de Andrade for 29 years, receiving an annual payment of 4,200 reis. Cadaval, April 22, 1761. 8- Formal request by Vicente Gomes Soutomaior to the Cardinal Patriarch that Ana Teresa Joaquina be accepted into the Carméités de Notre Seigneur de l'Incarnation convent in Rilhafoles. Belas, September 13, 1776. 9 - Certificate of dowry given by Captain Luís Botelho Trigueiros, Knight of the Order of Christ, and D. Maria do Rego Pereira for the marriage of their daughter, D. Mariana de Lemos Botelho, to Cristóvão de Barros Henriques, Knight of the Order of Christ. Quinta da Manteigosa, Cadaval, October 22, 1791. 10 - Deed of lease by which Ensign Manuel de Rochas Carvalho e Lemos leased certain rental income in Cambra and Vouzela to Agostinho da Fonseca e Ribeiro, resident of Vila Mariz (Lafões), for 200,000 reis a year. Freixedo, February 14, 1799. 11 - Formal request presented by Teodoro Henriques Pinto da Cunha, son of D. Maria Raimunda Luísa de Lacerda, administrator of the rural residence and estate of Figueiros, on the outskirts of Cadaval, and of the chapel of São Luís in Óbidos, demanding ratification of his ownership of certain property, April 23, 1800. 12 - Deed of lease by which D. Isabel Antónia do Carmo Rocha Lemos de Chaves leased her estate in the Coimbra region, comprising Lamarosa (Tentúgal), Póvoa and Vara da Carapinheira, to José Correia Monteiro, a resident of Carapinheira, on the outskirts of Montemor-o-Velho, for 750,000 reis a year. Póvoa Nova de Santa Cristina, February 4, 1804. 13 - Civil judgment handed down by the Porto court in the case of Miguel Gomes v. Manuel de Rochas Lemos e Carvalho. The latter sought an injunction against the Ardãos monastery, ordering the pledging of his property to pay a rent debt. The monastery claimed that it owed nothing and had not been ordered to pledge its property, but the court rejected this claim on July 20, 1804. 14 - Deed certifying that António Germano Barreto de Pina Trigueiros had taken possession of the Quinta das Figueiras estate, April 15, 1828. 15 - Deed of lease by which Bartolomeu A. G. Pato rents to João Jorge, farmer, living in Dois Portos, a plot near Mouquelas, suitable for sowing with 8 bushels of wheat, as well as other plots, where 2 bushels of wheat are sown.
