Louis Henri Joseph de BOURBON prince de CONDÉ (1756-1830) Li - Lot 248
Louis Henri Joseph de BOURBON prince de CONDÉ (1756-1830) Lieutenant-General, Father of the Duc d'ENGHIEN -Letter signed PARIS February 17, 1787 - 1p in-4° - he requests a pension of 800 livres for Joseph de GRAMMONT, Major of the BOURBON regiment. "This officer fought the entire American War with the greatest zeal. He abandoned his infant son, who had just lost his mother, to follow his flags; he deserves the King's kindness all the more, as his absence caused a great reduction in his son's fortune. Since the Sieur de GRAMMONT has been a Major, he has unceasingly taken great care of the Regiment's instruction, and if the Roy granted him a Pension, he would be able to bring his son to the Corps, and would very rarely go to his home."
