"This officer fought the entire American War with the greatest zeal. He abandoned his infant son, who had just lost his mother, to follow his flags; he deserves the King's kindness all the more, as his absence caused a great reduction in his son's fortune. Since the Sieur de GRAMMONT has been a Major, he has unceasingly taken great care of the Regiment's instruction, and if the Roy granted him a Pension, he would be able to bring his son to the Corps, and would very rarely go to his home."
