Letter signed "Le Général VICTOR" to COPENHAGE, 23 Messidor An 13 (17 July 1805). (He is Ambassador to Denmark). 2 pages in-4°: "I thank you, my dear Friend, ... the testimonies of your attachment are always very sensitive to me and I accept with pleasure your congratulations on the new mission that the Emperor has entrusted to me and the distinguished manner in which he has wished to reward my services. I must in turn congratulate you on the happy existence you have managed to secure for yourself. An honorable job, a loving and cherished wife, a beautiful child to brighten all this up - these are real assets, my dear Crouzet... Guiot (General GUYOT) didn't come with me. He could have followed me without harming his interests and advancement. I have recommended him to Marshal LANNES, with whom he continues his service". (General GUYOT becomes Aide de Camp to Marshal LANNES).
