Cycling / 1921 Tour de France / Automobiles - Lot 71
Cycling / 1921 Tour de France / Automobiles 2 original press photographs, silver gelatin prints: rare bird’s-eye views of the Tour caravan during the checkpoint in Fécamp Champion Honoré Barthélemy (jersey No. 5) can be seen, as well as Desmarets and Alphonse Baugé (wearing a fur collar). The main point of interest lies in the four support vehicles: a car from the Velox company, adorned with a tube of glue on the windshield, is undoubtedly the first “customized” vehicle in the history of the caravan. 12 x 18 cm (Wavy paper, small marks along the edges)
