Cardinal Étienne LE CAMUS (Paris 1632 – Grenoble 1707) Cardinal and theologian, he was initially chaplain to Louis XIV, led a very dissolute life, and, upon becoming (1671) Bishop of Grenoble, where he distinguished himself through his episcopal virtues. He was appointed Cardinal in 1686—A document on vellum (17 x 13) in his capacity as Counselor and Ordinary Chaplain to the King—Receipt from a nobleman for payment of the fourth quarter of the Aydes; Paris, August 4, 1669.
