MARNE. Thomas HUE DE MIROMENIL, 1st Marquis of Miromesnil in 1689, Lord of Miromesnil and La Roque (1634–1702) Counselor to the Grand Council, Master of Requests (1668), Intendant of Poitiers (1672), of Châlons (1673), of Champagne (1675), and of Tours (1689–1701), He was the father of the famous Miromesnil, Keeper of the Seals. Document signed “HUE DE MIROMENIL” in his capacity as Commissioner appointed to carry out His Majesty’s orders in the Generality of CHÂLONS (Marne) on the Certificate of Service for Sieur LEROUX, known as LA TOUCHE, a soldier in the Frezillière Regiment’s Grenadier Company. The latter was wounded in the arm, “having seen the certificate from the Directors of the Hospital of REIMS.” Dated at CHÂLONS on October 5, 1675.
