LEOPOLD, Duke of LORRAINE. NANCY (Meurthe-et-Moselle) 1711. “By His Royal Highness LÉOPOLD, Duke of LORRAINE, of Bar, of Montferrat, and of Charleville, King of Jerusalem, Marquis, Duke of Calabria and of Gelderland, Marquis of PONT-À-MOUSSON and of Nomeny… We have granted and bestowed upon Jean-Baptiste LE VOYER, one of our regular surgeons, whose merit, ability, skill, and long experience in the art of surgery are known to us through the evidence he has provided over the past 10 years that he has been in our service, as well as his prudence, good conduct, vigilance, loyalty, and devotion; For these reasons, we have granted, conferred, and bestowed upon him the office of our Chief Surgeon and Keeper of the Charters of the Guild of Surgeons of our States. Followed by the Ruling of the Sovereign Court of LORRAINE for the registration of the Letters Patent of Jean-Baptiste LE VOYER for the Office of First Surgeon, and Keeper of the Charters of the Surgeons’ Guild, a position previously held by Monsieur MALISSAIN.
