PRIVILEGES OF THE BOURGEOIS OF BORDEAUX - P.S. by the “Members of the Court of Aydes” - Bordeaux, March 8, 1760 – 2 pages, large folio – To His Excellency – They are sending “a copy of the remonstrances that we take the liberty of presenting to the King... which set and limit to one hundred thousand livres per year the GRATUITOUS DONATION that the City of BORDEAUX is required to pay, in accordance with the Edict of August 1758, and which, to facilitate the payment of this sum, as per other letters patent......confirming the privilege of the burghers of the City of Bordeaux, residing there, regarding the sale of wines from their own vineyards...” they request His Majesty’s protection.
