18th-Century Inventories Archive of Mr. Guillaume MARQUIER (or Marquié), former captain in the Navarre Regiment, retired captain of the Conflans Legion, or gentleman-in-waiting to the Count de CHASTELLET, French Ambassador to VIENNA (Austria). Held in Paris: 99 documents and letters from 1761 to 1788: primarily statements of expenses and detailed accounts belonging to Mr. Marquié. Invoices paid by Mr. Marquié, military head tax records, and records of construction work. Letters and documents relating to effects sent to London to Mrs. Rougé, née Marquié, on behalf of Mr. Marquié. Rescription and annuity deed. Invoices for clothing, bill of lading, and freight charges. Fine documents; invoices for linens from a cloth merchant in Paris. Saddlery items, lists of personal effects to be taken on a journey. Invoice stamped “Au Grand Louis,” a cloth merchant in Paris; receipt for payment of the Five Major Customs Duties (Douane), letters.
