THE PRINCE OF LAMBESC, LAST GOVERNOR OF ANJOU in 1761 (He was only 10 years old.) “Provisions of the Office of GOVERNOR and Lieutenant General in the region of ANJOU in favor of Charles-Eugène de LORRAINE, Prince of LAMBESC” - Large parchment (73 x 45) issued at VERSAILLES on August 1, 1761 - Document signed by King LOUIS XV (Secretary) and countersigned by PHELYPEAUX. “We take particular satisfaction in the great and important services that his ancestors have rendered to us on all occasions..., convinced that our said cousin, the Prince of LAMBESC, will follow in their footsteps and, like them, demonstrate his zeal, valor, and loyalty in our service...” - LAMBESC (Charles-Eugène de LORRAINE, 6th Duke-Pair of ELBEUF, Count of Brionne, Prince of) Versailles 1751 – Vienna (Austria) 1825 – Grand Equerry in 1761, last Governor of ANJOU in 1761, Colonel of the Royal German Cavalry Regiment, tasked on July 12, 1789, with dispersing the gatherings that had formed on Place Louis-XV. He emigrated with his regiment. King Louis XV granted the young Charles-Eugène de LORRAINE, son of Madame de Brionne and the late Prince Louis Charles de LORRAINE, his father’s titles on August 1, 1761.
