Jules-Basile FERRON DE LA FERRONNAYS, Bishop of ST BRIEUC (1770), of BAYONNE (1775), and then of LISIEUX (1783–1790) (Saint-Mars-Les-Ancenis 1735 – Munich 1799) – He was the son of the Marquis de La FERRONNAYS, Field Marshal of the King’s Army. Letter from A.S., as Bishop of Bayonne, written in Bayonne (Pyrénées-Atlantiques) on October 9, 1776. 1 p., in-8°. Trace of a tab on the reverse. “The friendship you have shown my parents, Sir, gives me the confidence to ask you for a favor on behalf of a gentleman from this city… ” He requests the position of Treasurer of the Navy in this department, which has just become vacant due to the death of Mr. de La GARDE, for Mr. HARIAGUE. “He is the nephew of Mr. HARIAGUE, a Counselor at the Parliament of Paris, who may have the advantage of being known to you.”
