BRANCAS-CÉRESTE. Louis Albert, Count of BRANCAS, Duke of Céreste (1764–1851) Emigrated in 1791 and took part in the campaigns of the Army of the Princes; returned to France on 18 Brumaire, served as chamberlain to Emperor Napoleon I, became Deputy Commander of the Paris National Guard on January 8, 1814, and was named a Peer of France—Letter signed “The Duke of CÉRESTE BRANCAS” - Paris, January 14, 1787: “I am very pleased to receive the assurances you have given me of the good wishes you have been kind enough to extend to me...” 1p in-4°.
