Louis Joseph V de BOURBON-CONDÉ (1736–1818) Prince of the Bl - Lot 350
Louis Joseph V de BOURBON-CONDÉ (1736–1818) Prince of the Blood, Colonel General of the Infantry, later Grand Master of the King’s Household—Letter signed “Louis Joseph de Bourbon” in his own hand, VERSAILLES (Palace of), November 7, 1788: “As the position of Major of the Isle of Oléron, Sir, is currently vacant, I would like it to be granted to the Honorable Chevalier Dudemaine, Captain commanding the Enghien Regiment; this position would serve as a retirement post that his service has earned. It is of little consequence; but a particular circumstance would make this favor infinitely precious to him. I take a great interest in this officer. I shall be truly grateful for whatever you are willing to do to ensure the success of his request. Please be assured, Sir, of the feelings of esteem and friendship I have always held for you”—1 page, in-4°.
