Eugène-Eustache, Count of BÉTHISY-VERBERIE (1739–1823), a general officer, distinguished himself during the Seven Years’ War and emigrated in 1791. In 1797, he entered the service of Austria. He returned to France in 1814 and became Governor of the Tuileries - Letter signed in Paris on April 29, 1789—to the Count—in which he requests “mercy and kindness for Mr. CASSANT, Captain commanding the Vexin Regiment, who deserves leniency due to his conduct, his intelligence, and the circumstances that led to his offense; here is the facts of the matter...” “I stand as his guarantor that he will prove his gratitude to you through his zeal and diligence in your service.” 2 pages, in-4°
