ARIÈGE. Raymond GASTON (1757–1836), Member of the National C - Lot 428
ARIÈGE. Raymond GASTON (1757–1836), Member of the National Convention from ARIÈGE. Autograph letter signed, Paris, November 30, 1791. He asks the Minister to grant a temporary leave of absence to his brother, a colonel in the 54th Regiment stationed at LONGWY. “Following the unfortunate events at NANCY, where he commanded a division, and immediately after the insurrection at BELFORT—which he was fortunate enough to quell—he suffered a stroke that has greatly impaired his health. He would like to go and recuperate with his family… He will report for duty at the first call to lead his regiment if the needs of the Fatherland require it…” 1p in-4°
