BREST UNDER STATE OF SIEGE, June 19, 1815 – Order issued by Baron BRENIER, Lieutenant General and Commander-in-Chief of BREST under a state of siege, concerning the organization and service of the National Guard. “Whereas the Elite Companies of the three Battalions of the National Guard of BREST will be called into action without delay, and it is urgent to organize the internal service of the Companies in the center of said battalions… Orders all residents of BREST to report to their companies…” (40 x 35) + Enclosed: Excerpt from the deliberations of the BREST City Council, dated 3 Nivôse, Year 9.
