SEINE-ET-OISE. 1818. Annual Inspection of Weights and Measures—Decree issued by Baron DES TOUCHES, Prefect, issued and enacted in VERSAILLES (78) on February 12, 1818—“1°) The annual verification of Weights and Measures for the year 1818 will begin on April 10 throughout the entire Department of SEINE-ET-OISE. In addition to the embossed coat of arms of France, weights and measures shall be marked with the letter Q. 2°) Effective June 1, for the cantons of VERSAILLES, CORBEIL, PONTOISE, MANTES, ETAMPES, and RAMBOUILLET, and as of September 1 for the other cantons in their respective districts, all weights and measures that do not bear the letter Q as a mark of recent verification shall be deemed counterfeit and seized as such… ” (in 12 articles).
