Duchess of BERRY. VENDÉE. The 5th VENDÉE WAR launched by the Duchess of BERRY. Certificate signed “Marie-Caroline ,” Duchess of Berry, as Regent of France for her son Henry V, countersigned by General Baron Anne Louis Antoine Clouet, Commander of the Right Bank of the Loire (Créteil (94) 1781–1862). He took part, alongside General de BOURMONT, in the attempted uprising in the West in support of the Duchess of Berry in 1832. Certificate confirming the appointment of Louis HUBERT to the rank of Battalion Commander in the Royal Army, a position he held in the province of Brittany during May and June 1832. Issued in exile in Graz (Austria) on February 28, 1837. Marie-Caroline, Duchess of Berry (1798–1870), daughter of the King of the Two Sicilies, wife of the Duke of Berry, and mother of the Count of Chambord, attempted to incite an uprising in the Vendée in 1832.
