Alexandre WALEWSKI, Count and later Duke (Poland 1810 – Strasbourg 1868), the illegitimate son of Napoleon I and Marie Walewska, was a Franco-Polish military officer, diplomat, and politician. He served as a minister and senator during the Second Empire. Printed letter with the autograph signature of “A. WALEWSKI,” Minister of State. Paris, January 17, 1861, to Count Louis de CAMBACÉRÈS, Member of Parliament. He sends him a copy of the Imperial Decree convening the Senate and the Legislative Body for Monday, February 4. 2 folio pages, partially printed.
