NASA. Astronaut Edgard D. Mitchell, pilot of the lunar module for the Apollo 14 mission, carries a scientific instrument during the first extravehicular activity (EVA-1) on the lunar surface. Astronaut Alan B. Shepard, Jr., the mission commander, walks near the lunar seismometer. This rare photograph, showing two astronauts walking on the lunar surface in a single frame, was taken using the automatic 16mm camera mounted on the "Apollo Modularized Equipment Transporter (MET)." February 15, 1972. Period chromogenic print on paper: “THIS PAPER MANUFACTURED BY KODAK.” NASA logo and typewritten caption on the back. 20.3 x 25.4 cm with margins.
