NASA. LARGE FORMAT. Solar observation. - Lot 223
NASA. LARGE FORMAT. Solar observation. A solar flare observed by four instruments, 2000. This series of superimposed images shows a powerful coronal mass ejection (CME) observed by the SOHO spacecraft. The eruption begins in a region of sunspots, followed by a powerful flash and the ejection of a massive cloud of gas. The images come from four instruments that tracked the event’s progression over several hours. This CME was part of a series of five major ejections observed in late November 2000. This composite thus illustrates the various stages of a solar storm’s formation and expansion. Vintage chromogenic print. Numbered in the margin on the front. 50.8 x 50.8 cm with margins.
