NASA. LARGE FORMAT. Bonneville Crater – Mars This panoramic image shows Bonneville Crater, photographed by the Spirit rover. It was taken shortly after the rover arrived at the crater’s rim on March 12, 2004. The interior of the crater is visible, as are the tracks left by Spirit’s wheels. Scientists hoped to find rocks there that would reveal Mars’ ancient history. This view is one of the first large panoramas captured from the surface of the Red Planet. Contemporary chromogenic print. Caption on label on the back. 20.4 x 40.6 cm with margins.
