NASA. LARGE FORMAT. Victoria Crater – Planet Mars This image shows Victoria Crater, near the equator of Mars. About 800 meters wide, it reveals cliffs composed of layers of ancient rock. The crater floor is covered with sand dunes sculpted by the Martian wind. The Opportunity rover is visible on the crater rim after traveling more than 9 kilometers. This photograph was taken by the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, which is mapping Mars at very high resolution. 2006. Contemporary chromogenic print. Numbered in the margin on the front.
