AUDE - Joseph CARAGUEL (Narbonne 1855–1941, positivist writer, said to be the Goncourt Brothers’ favorite disciple) / Extensive correspondence consisting of 90 signed autograph letters, totaling 262 pages (various formats), circa 1892–1908, a few envelopes preserved, to his friend Jules HURET (1863–1915, a journalist known for his literary interviews as part of his major work *Enquête sur l’évolution littéraire*; in which he spoke with Zola, Maupassant, and Verlaine, as well as Tolstoy, Kipling, and Twain): Caraguel was among those interviewed by Hurel and was one of his close friends; together they gave each other nicknames based on Flaubert’s characters—“Bouvard” or “Pécuchet” for one, and “Foureau” or “Boch” (it is with these nicknames that Caraguel signed his letters); the conversation covers the press, publishers, reading material, their reviews, current events, and politics / Enclosed: 8 autograph draft letters from Jules Huret and an autograph signed letter from Serge Bassel of *Le Figaro* regarding a play by Caraguel r474
