MILITARIA - General Ernest-Maximilien LARCHEY (Strasbourg 1834–1924) / A collection of 16 military documents from his career, most signed by the Ministers of War (appointments, promotions): second lieutenant in the 46th Line Infantry Regiment in the Army of the Orient (1854, Marshal Vaillant), lieutenant (1855, Marshal Vaillant), captain (1859, Marshal Vaillant), adjutant-major (1861), major (1869, Marshal Niel), commendation in the Order of the Day (Sevastopol 1869), lieutenant colonel (1874, Minister de Cissey), appointed to the 1st Regiment of Algerian Tirailleurs (1876), colonel (1878, Minister Borel), member of the Infantry Advisory Committee (1882, General-Minister Campenon), brigadier general at Sedan (1885, General-Minister Campenon), commander of the regional subdivisions from Auxerre to Orléans (1891, Minister de Freycinet), commander of the 19th Army Corps in Algiers (1895, General-Minister Zurlinden), member of the Superior War Council replacing General Mercier (1899, Minister de Freycinet), assigned to the reserve section of the Army General Staff (Sept. 1899, signed by Galliffet).
