Letter written from HORNEBURG (Germany, Lower Saxony) on August 21, 1762, between two French victories won in Germany. - 2 pages, in-8°: “I have received, Sir, your letter of today, written at nine o’clock in the morning, with the news from BORGTEMFURT—for which I am grateful—and the package of news from Mr. D’HERVERVILLE. According to Baron d’ELBREFELD’s report, a force of Blues and Coquins has gathered and is roaming the countryside, stationed between BOCKUM, STEIT, and GELSKIRCH; please convey this message on my behalf to Bailly de GROLLIER. Mr. de MARABAIL asks where I think it would be appropriate to set up a shelter for the sick in case I have to leave here. I do not want one.
