LOIRET. 13 Letters: A beautiful letter from Paris addressed to Madame L’AINÉE, rue de la Levrette in ORLÉANS, dated August 3, 1771, regarding the funeral of the Duke of MORTEMART; mentioned are Madame de Saint Maurice, Mr. de la Charlotais, the Marquis de la Jamaïque, the Duke of Bervick… ) “Mr. de Mortemart must have passed through Orléans on his way to the Cordeliers in Poitiers. Last night I attended the final rites held in his honor at Saint-Sulpice from 8 to 9 o’clock. He had requested that there be no canopy, no drapery, and no music. The hearse was not ready when the service ended... We are still leaving on the 12th for Louville (Louville-la-Chenard), and I will lead the procession with the young people. Four carriage horses will take us to Arpajon (Essonne), where six of the estate’s horses will be waiting to take us to Monnerville (Essonne), from where six post horses will take us to Louville at 2:00 p.m. Madame du R. reports that the King (Louis XV) is in good health; therefore, we must regard as unfounded all that has been said about his poor health. The Duke of Alba has come from Madrid to try to restore his own health… ” + Letter dated ORLÉANS, March 21, 1826, autograph signed by the Countess de BEAUCLERC, addressed to her notary in Lizy-sur-Ourcq. She asks him for a new title to a land rent, and the value of her lands, “and for the damage caused by the new channel that has just been dug in the Ourcq River… ” (Excavation of the Ourcq Canal) + Letter from A.S. Auguste Ernest d’ABOVILLE, Viscount d’Aboville (1819–1885; he served as a deputy for the Loiret in 1871). The letter was written from the Château de ROUVILLE, in Malesherbes, in the Loiret, on January 3, 1884. 1 page, in-8° format, regarding a land concession + 10 letters and letter-cards signed by the Countess d’IDEVILLE (1893–1907), concerning the sale of her lands in COUDRAY, a former commune in the Loiret department.
