Jean-Nicolas MANGIN (1744–1809) Deputy of the Third Estate to the Estates-General representing the bailiwick of SEDAN (Ardennes) — Letter signed by MANGIN (very rare) as “Deputy to the National Assembly” — January 28, 1791 — 2 folio pages — “Mademoiselle Baye, a haberdasher residing on Rue de Bourbon le Château in the St. Germain outer suburb, has the honor to inform you that, at the time of the Revolution, she was dispossessed by the former Cordeliers district of her shop located on Rue des Fossés in St. Germain-des-Prés, so that a guard post could be established there...” She is claiming the balance of her compensation.
