COMMUNE OF PARIS. 2 Pages: COMMUNE OF PARIS. Paris, August 8, Fructidor, Year 9 (August 26, 1801). Certified copy of the death certificate of a 28-year-old laundress, residing at 587 Rue du Bacq, who died on the 1st of Fructidor, Year 9, at the Grand Hospice d’Humanité. Printed form labeled “Commune of PARIS,” filled out in ink and stamped + Jean Baptiste PÉLIGOT (1777–1837), chief accountant of the Paris hospices and administrator of the Paris civil hospices. Letter A.S. “PELIGOT” dated November 27, 1818, to Mr. SERRES, physician at the Hospice de la Pitié, in PARIS. He intercedes on behalf of a student from the École des Arts et Métiers who was assigned to his office on the recommendation of the Duke of La Rochefoucauld. He would be very upset to lose him and requests a permanent exemption for him, explaining the reasons for doing so.
