General Baron Louis Léger BOYELDIEU (Monsures, Somme, 1774 – - Lot 474

General Baron Louis Léger BOYELDIEU (Monsures, Somme, 1774 – Wounded by gunfire in Dresden on August 26, 1813; died August 11, 1815) – General; he served in Egypt and with the Grande Armée – Document signed by the Council of the 4th Line Infantry Regiment, of which BOYELDIEU was colonel – at LABES on February 6, 1808 – 1 folio page: “Record of the service of Mr. MAILLEFERT (Charles François), battalion commander, born in Paris on March 22, 1758.” He served in the campaigns of 1792–93 with the Army of the Moselle, in Years 2 and 3 with the Army of the West (Vendée), Years 8 and 9 with the Army of the Rhine; he was shot in the thigh during the Battle of Martigni on July 15, 1793; struck on the head with a rifle butt during the Battle of Saint-Lambert; and fell from his horse during the siege of Angers on the 15th of Frimaire, Year 2.
