ERFURT MEETING, OCTOBER 1808 – Letter from Adjutant General - Lot 481
ERFURT MEETING, OCTOBER 1808 – Letter from Adjutant General AMABERT to a General, 3 pages, in-4° format—A Glance at the Administration of TUSCANY in Some of Its Relations with That of France; and a biting review of certain administrative figures in both countries. “... The Minister has just appointed the three Inspectors of the Consolidated Customs Service of Tuscany... I am setting aside the complaints of the Tuscan administration and the Director-General so that the committee may proceed freely and smoothly...The organization of the customs service—a matter dear to the Emperor—is being expedited... the Emperor left this morning for ERFURT, and we will not see him again for another month.” (Erfurt Interview, October 1808)
