Guillaume LATRILLE de LORENCEZ (Pau, 1772–1855) General of the Revolution and the Empire. Son-in-law of Marshal OUDINOT. Count of the Empire in 1813. He served in Russia in 1812—Letter signed Baron de LORENCEZ, General, Chief of Staff of the 2nd Corps of the GRAND ARMY, at headquarters in MAGDEBOURG (Germany) on March 16, 1812, addressed to General CASTEX in GREIFSWALD (Germany), Swedish Pomerania. Postage-paid mark “General Staff,” 1 folio-sized page: “Order of the Day: The regiments belonging to the 2nd Army Corps that have not yet received any ambulance supplies… are hereby notified that … the assortment of ambulance wagons for each Corps must consist of the following: (number of) mattresses, blankets, stretchers, amputation boxes, medicine boxes, bandages, dressing materials… for the infantry or cavalry. These various supplies will be issued to the Corps Medical Officers designated by the Administrative Councils to receive them at the MAGDEBOURG hospital supply depot, where they are requested to report immediately.”
