NAVY. TOBACCO. Shipwreck at BELLE-ISLE EN MER. Signed letter - Lot 571
NAVY. TOBACCO. Shipwreck at BELLE-ISLE EN MER. Signed letter from the Director of the LOIRE-INFÉRIEURE Department, NANTES, March 10, 1824, to the Manager of the Royal Tobacco Manufactory in MORLAIX (Finistère), regarding the shipwreck of the vessel LA CATHERINE. “Sir, the plates loaded onto La Catherine, which was shipwrecked, were salvaged at Belle-Isle-en-Mer and will reach you shortly; as they were insured, the insurance company has just given the order to ship them to you immediately. The third one is well underway, but an injury sustained by the workshop foreman while forging has set back its completion by a few more days.” 1 page, in-4°.
