Letter signed in PARIS on March 23, 1768, in his capacity as Lieutenant of Police. 1 page, large 8vo: “It appears, Sir, from the inquiries I have had made regarding the woman named Catherine FALCOT, that she resides, as she claims, with the widow STENAUT; however, she was dismissed from there due to her misconduct and because she was living a dissolute life with a private individual who has been accused of stealing handkerchiefs. Furthermore, this woman has no children and has never been married. I hope that these clarifications will serve your purpose, and I remain, Sir, your most humble and most obedient servant.”
