Pierre-Joseph de LACHÈZE-MUREL (Martel, Lot, 1744–1835) Deputy to the Estates-General of 1789 representing the Third Estate of Quercy; Deputy for the LOT during the Restoration – Letter signed in his capacity as Secretary of the Legation in NAPLES, addressed to the Marquis de GALLO, of Naples (Italy), on 25 Fructidor, Year 6 (September 11, 1798): “Your Excellency the Marquis. At the request of Citizen SIEYES, Consul General of the French Republic, you have kindly ordered the seizure of two vessels: ‘the Madonna di Borsso and the Annunciata,’ captured by the English off the coast of Calabria. The owners of these vessels… must follow the proceedings concerning them” and request authorization to remain in Naples for two months—Engraved vignette reading “Legation of Naples.” 1 folio page.
