Pierre-Alexandre Laurent FORFAIT (Rouen 1752–1807) Hydrographic Engineer, Deputy for Seine-Maritime in 1791, Minister of the Navy from 1799 to 1801 – Document signed by FORFAIT, Minister of the Navy and the Colonies, certifying this as a true copy of an extract from the minutes of the Consuls of the Republic dated 14 Nivôse, Year 9 (January 4, 1801). “Within 15 days, all chartered or requisitioned vessels that are not deemed absolutely necessary for service shall be discharged in all ports of the Republic…” 2 folio pages.
