Joachim PIÉTRI (Sartène, Corsica, 1820–1886) As Prefect of Police in 1860, he was tasked with suppressing various political demonstrations, such as the one at the Montmartre Cemetery in 1867; the Baudin affair; and the demonstration at the funeral of Victor Noir (assassinated by Prince Pierre-Napoléon Bonaparte, son of Lucien Bonaparte, on January 11, 1870) – Letter signed as the Attaché to the Emperor’s Private Secretariat—Header: Office of the Emperor—Vichy, July 30, 1861—1 folio page—to the Minister of the Navy and Colonies, requesting that he examine a model anchor.
